Virtual Folders
Virtual Folders allow you to create new folders on the IUM for grouping and managing content. These folders don’t exist on the Host Computer and will only be seen by the Client device that the IUM is connected to. Under them, you can add any content you wish even if the content is located in different areas of your computer. For example, you can combine all your movies into one easy to access folder on the IUM.
To create a virtual folder:
In the main window of the Infinite Portal choose the root directory.
Select the "Add Folder" button.
Select "Virtual Folder".
Give a name to your Virtual Folder and click "OK".
The Virtual Folder will now appear under the IUM Device as a gold folder icon. You can only create one level of virtual folders. All additional folders must be real folders from the Host Computer.
Sharing ON/OFF of Files and Folders
The Infinite Portal maintains a separate sharing status for each file/folder shared to determine whether the sharing status is ON or OFF. If the sharing status is ON, the file/folder will show up normally on the IUM drive. If the sharing status is OFF, the file/folder will not show up on the IUM drive. The ON/OFF button give you the ability to easily and quickly share or remove from the IUM Drive without having to delete them from the Infinite Portal.
Synchronization of Shared Files and Folders
The sync feature allows the most current files/sub-folders that you have shared to appear on the IUM. Although in most cases this is done in real time, some devices may require some time to update the data shared on the IUM. If such a situation occurs you can refresh the content of the IUM at any time by pressing the "Sync" button. The "Sync" button causes the IUM to restart so that the Client device thinks that the flash drive has been removed and inserted again. This will allow the new folder structure to appear on the device. Note that this will cancel any file transfers that are happening on the IUM as well as any media streaming.
Performance Monitor
A performance monitoring solution has been added to the Infinite Portal. This can be used to monitor the Signal Strength between the IUM and the Host Computer as well as Data Transfer Speed. The Signal Strength is displayed as a percentage of the maximum signal strength available while the Data Transfer Speed is measured in megabits per second.
