Internet Connection

Since the Infinite Portal takes over the WiFi connection of your computer, you will not be able to connect to the internet using the method you are accustomed to while the IUM is in use. Instead you can connect to the internet by using the Infinite Portal.

The Infinite Portal will create a connection between your IUM and your regular WiFi access point and then route the internet traffic back to the Host Computer. In essence the IUM will be connected to your home/office network’s access point while simultaneously connected to the Host Computer. We call this Dual-WiFi and is something unique to the IUM.

The IUM’s ability to do Dual-WiFi means that you must use the Infinite Portal to set up and operate your internet connection or connect to a WiFi Hotspot. In most cases the Infinite Portal will automatically detect your current internet connection and seamlessly port it to the IUM so that you can continue using the internet with any hassles. However, if this doesn’t happen or you wish to change your internet connection at any time, you can do this by going the Internet Connection tab of the Infinite Portal.

The following is the process:
Click on the Internet Connection tab on the Infinite Portal.
A list of the available wireless networks will be displayed. If not click "Refresh".
Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect".
If the selected network is secured, enter the Security Type and Security Key.
Your internet connection will be established.
Additionally, the "Test Connection" button will allow you to check if a successful internet connection has been established.

Please note: Connecting to the internet may slow down the overall speed of the IUM. For best performance, transfer speed and for streaming Full HD video, we recommend that you to deactivate the internet connection to increase your overall bandwidth.

Preferred Network List

The Infinite Portal also gives you the option to save your network settings into a preferred list so that you can automatically connect to an access point next time you are in range. Once connected to a new network, you will be prompted to add it to your Preferred Networks list.

You can also add a new network to the preferred list at any time by completing the following steps:
In the Preferred Network section, click "Add".
Specify the Network Name. If it is a secured network, specify the Security Type and Security Key.
Click on the check box if you want this connection to start automatically when you open the Infinite Portal.
Click "Save".
You will then see the network in your Preferred Network list.
You can prioritize your networks by clicking "Move up" or "Move down".
