[Solved]Failed to mount MicroSDcard 64GB exFAT

Postby caryntjen » Wed Feb 06, 2013 8:19 pm

Hello I've been trying to update manually, but something went wrong. I firstly put the zip on the root, than in a new map. Twice the same error:

E: failed to seek in /tmp/preload/package.zip (Invalid argument)
E: signature verification failed.

Download the zip, straight from http://www.infinitec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=450

How did you put the file in /tmp/preload/package? If it is on a sd-card you put in the device, then it will not be in /tmp/.

Please provide your steps to attempt this operation. Also, let us know what version you're upgrading from.

I put the zip file in the root.

I will say that I used the SD card that's in my mobile phone, which has some LOST.DIR and things. But I've put them into a map. It's also a 64gb SDcard.

Also it's not a map he finds it's a zip! /tmp/preload/package.zip

In recovery:

  • Using the IR remote (not the Air Remote), navigate to and select “apply update”
  • Select “sdcard/”
  • Select the ZIP file you downloaded to your sd-card

Now it states:

E: bad bootloader arguments
"(null)"
E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: cannot mount mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /sdcard/factory_update_param.aml
E: failed to mount /udisk(No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /udisk(No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /udisk(No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /udisk(No such file or directory)
E: cannot mount mount /udisk(No such file or directory)
E: can't mount /udisk/factory_update_param.aml

I did a factory reset, still the same error. I still can boot properly, and it can read my SDcard (which is formatted in exFAT). The air update still breaks and the manual update does this as well. My sd just reads fine.

Those errors mean that your /sdcard wasn't in the device, or at least all the way in, at the time you tried to access /sdcard/.

The /udisk errors are just background noise as uboot didn't create any udisk partitions when it was loaded on the device.

Not sure, but I don't think exFAT is supported. Try formatting it to normal FAT.

Yeah, I didn't catch the "xfat" comment. Go for the standard ole fat. While we support a lot within Android, recovery's another beast. I can't swear by what's supported and what isn't.

It says under info the pocket tv can only support micro sd up to 32gb, maybe that's it, but I'm getting the same message when I update it normally

I'm unsure what you're talking about. Are you referring to what I answered above? If not, let me know...

The /udisk errors are just background noise as uboot didn't create any udisk partitions when it was loaded on the device.

To add to taht, those messages are just verbose output from the recovery system... Again, the /sdcard/ one could be relevant if you don't have the sdcard in, it is formatted wrong, or it is an unsupported size as you said.
