Great Software is the Key
For a consumer product to be adopted in the market, it needs to be more than just a great idea with great technology. It’s success or failure with consumers comes down to ease of use.
We know the IUM is a great concept and we have invested a lot into the hardware platform to ensure the highest level of performance for our customers. Ultimately though, we believe it is our investment into the software that will ensure our success.
The challenge we set ourselves from the very beginning was to make a product that is easier than any other solution in the market today. The way we achieved this was by always asking the question “If I knew nothing about network sharing and wireless technology, how would I want to use this product?”
User Experience has been a major focus with our software development. We have held numerous User Experience Workshops during the various Development Phases. This included roll playing the use and feature of the IUM to ensure the end result is as intuitive as possible.
I am sure all of our development partners have been frustrated as to how pedantic we have been with the software look and feel however the end result is truly an awesome product.
We have been receiving feedback from several people about our YouTube Video saying that we faked our demo as looked too easy. We think that is excellent as it shows our hard work has paid off.
Later this week we will post a new YouTube Video focusing on the configuration options of the IUM and uses for Laptop to Laptop sharing. This will showcase the management software of the IUM, Infinite Portal showing the level of control you have while maintaining ease of use.
