Big Things Comes in Small Packages

The IT of today is a booming industry. The success of it is a result of competition and intervention of companies specializing in modern technological development. The fact that every problem has a solution is one thing that IT companies are trying to explore. Though solutions exist, it is still a matter of how far you will go to grab that very pot of gold at the end of a brick wall.

Consequently the very rule of the IT industry is to make life easier for the human race. I couldn’t think of any other good reasons why people venture into the realm of the high tech world without that in mind. It’s like a mindset or a to-do list that needs to be done. Whether you just want to be famous or be included on fortune magazine’s top list of rich entrepreneurs it doesn’t matter. The point is, as long as it actually helps people live their lives without too much effort that makes it a winner.

As a Software Engineer I have encountered people who just don’t like too much work on their software, flashy things, and even animated add-ons on their user interface. They just want a direct, to the point process, almost a drag and drop sequence in getting the job done. Sometimes no matter how hard you try to enhance the things you are doing when it comes to the “Look and Feel Requirements” of the software, it doesn’t even matter to them. So for me sticking to the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle helps in dealing with these kinds of people.

With that in mind I could fairly say that these reasons actually pave the way for the Infinite USB Memory (IUM) to be created. IUM for me is an extra arm. It’s that missing link for people with less knowledge about technology and rather impatient of doing something way outside their comfort zone. If you happen to be that person who enjoys watching Homer Simpson on HD on your Playstation, Xbox or Wii without needing to transfer something from one point to another via flash drives, then we’re on the same boat together. That’s it, no flashy tricks, no networking jargons, just a click and drag scheme. A minute wasted is big for some people with less time in their lives just to enjoy a movie night with the family, a fiancée or even a group of working buddies. Technology is for everybody but not everybody could afford all of it. Well maybe a piece of it but sometimes it’s just not enough. For example, if today’s plan is to buy a large screen TV then maybe next month or next year we could add a high definition sound system to further enhance our viewing experience. We have to make sacrifices. Blessed are the people who could do all this at the same time. As a result IUM, is a device that could bridge the gap of buying everything piece by piece due to its versatile features. Whether rich or middle-class or techno savvy or techno-idiots (like me), we could all enjoy the IUM like a bunch of HD couch potatoes.

As I am writing this blog it is now clear to me where to put myself in this ever changing world of reality. Obviously I’ll be at Infinitec in the morning and I will be in my room in the evening enjoying the IUM’s marvelous contribution to society. It’s funny to think that I am now working at a company that could solve my problem. In the past I have always been the one who finds solutions to problems, developing software to address the business needs of my clients. But now I am here working to further enhance the IUM for the very purpose of the need of technology in our world – it is to make each one of us content in living with endless comfort. Innovations are just around the corner and solutions are everywhere. The solution might not be too big but Hey! Big things come in small packages.
